Status VANNPROSJEKT I SI GISENYI, RWANDA
Prosjektet var beregnet ferdigstilt i løpet av mai i år. Grøft er gravet, vannledninger er på plass. Alt skulle være klappet og klart for at landsbyen Bihe skulle ha enkel tilgang til vann.
Men verden går ikke alltid rett frem. Én ting er koronaen. Den har lagt kjelker i veien. Så kom vulkanutbrudd og jordskjelv i Gisenyiområdet og laget enda flere vanskeligheter.

Thank you so much for this import support.
You know all of you that the volcano eruption happened 22th May in our région and just after the earthquake that destroyed many things (houses, roads ) and deaths in Goma.
Population moved away, I also left Gisenyi with my family.
I'm now back and have been to the bank this morning to ask the situation. Money arrived on 26th May ( 1300€). Thank you again.
We planned to finish the project with the end of May, unfortunately, the eruption and the critical pandemic situation stopped today many activities, also what we were doing in Bihe. We are confinée in out districts and many personnes are not authorised to work together.
We still are waiting to get autorisation to take back the activities. I will let you know.

Five soroptimists of our club have had cracks on their houses because of the earthquake; As I have seen, two of them will have to be rebuilt.
There is a crack that crosses Gisenyi town from the volcano to the lake. Some brief repairs have been done but the places where cracks reach one meter wide are closed (road, schools ...).
My house is ok, I thank God.
I will keep you informed about the project as soon as possible, the technicien contacted coronavirus, confinement is on for 15 days till July 15th, but the situation is not good at all, in all districts new infections and deaths every day.

Oppsummert:
Det hadde vært en stor glede å kunne si at nå er prosjektet fullført, men det må drøye litt som dere skjønner. MEN, vi er ikke i tvil om at vi kommer i mål!
Vi sender en stor takk til alle som har bidratt med midler og håper at dere har forståelse for at prosjektet tar lenger tid enn planlagt.
